The perspective of Jeremy Dein QC, Middlesex University QC in Residence, 2017/18. In this lecture, Jeremy will examine the Lammy Review’s criticisms of the criminal justice system, from defence counsel’s day to day perspective. He will look at issues of discrimination from the point of view of 35 years of practice and test the reality: does the process do its best to treat all the same, or do issues of colour, creed and race genuinely influence criminal proceedings? Police, CPS, prisons, offenders, victims, magistrates and judges will all come under the spotlight. Questions and discussion on this topic of crucial importance will be invited. For more information, please click the link below.
