Richard Edmond

Richard is a specialist defence barrister with a developing practice across the full spectrum of criminal matters including violence, sexual offences and motoring.

He is committed to thorough preparation, effective advocacy and exceptional client care. Richard's approach combines meticulous attention to detail with clear, persuasive presentation in court.

Richard has experience in cases involving complex evidence and expert testimony. He builds excellent rapport with clients and is experienced in defending young defendants and those with vulnerabilities.

Richard defends motoring matters including drug driving, speeding and failing to provide driver information.

Before practising at the Bar, Richard worked as a paralegal for solicitors defending an SFO prosecution concerning alleged bribery by the former directors of a UK-listed mining company. Prior to his legal career, he worked internationally for several years, including three years as a university lecturer in Sierra Leone.
