Called 2022

Caio Alves

Pupil Barrister

Caio began his First Pupillage in October 2025, under the supervision of Dominic Thomas.

Experience

Before commencing pupillage, Caio worked as a Corporate Crime paralegal at Hickman & Rose. He supported defence teams in cases of fraud, corruption and other matters brought by the Serious Fraud Office, the National Crime Agency and various prosecuting authorities. He also worked on serious and general crime matters, regulatory proceedings and the Post Office Inquiry. Caio has experience across all stages of a case, including the strategic and tactical considerations involved in building a defence.

Prior to this, he was part of a busy restructuring and insolvency practice at a magic circle law firm, where he contributed to and gained insight into high-value restructurings.

In addition, Caio has volunteered with a number of charities and organisations. With the School’s Consent Project, he delivered workshops to schools on issues of consent and sexual offences. He also provided pro bono representation in employment cases with the Free Representation Unit.

For his Bar studies, Caio was awarded the Sir Christopher Benson Scholarship from the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple.
