Sonal Dashani secures acquittal of GP charged with fraud, mortgage fraud & perverting the course of justice

Following a 4 month trial at Luton Crown Court, Sonal Dashani secured the unanimous acquittal of her client of all charges. The allegations concerned what was said to be a false insurance claim arising from a  fabricated burglary and 3 counts of mortgage fraud totalling over £1m. The  client was also said to have perverted the course of justice by seeking to dispose of items claimed for in the insurance claim. The case  involved a “cut-throat” defence against the co-defendant husband, also a doctor. He was convicted of all charges.
Sonal was instructed by John Kaye of Carson Kaye Solicitors. For a report of the case, click here
