John Cooper QC and Alex Jamieson secure landmark second Inquest for the Family of Geoff Gray

Deepcut: John Cooper QC and Alex Jamieson secure landmark second Inquest for the Family of Geoff Gray, instructed by Louise Scott at JD Spicer Zeb……. On 17th September 2001 Geoff Gray was just 17 years old when he died at the Princess Barracks, Deepcut from gunshot wounds to his head. The first inquest held into his death sat on 19th March 2002 for a mere 4 hours, calling little evidence, and returning an ‘open verdict’ that did little to help Geoff’s parents understand just what had happened to their son. Today, and following argument from John Cooper QC and Alex Jamieson, , the High Court acknowledged that significant and substantial evidence had emerged since that time, and that it was necessary and in the interests of justice that a new inquest be ordered.   Arrangements will now be made for the new inquest to take place, and for proper consideration to be given to the important evidence in the case. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2017/nov/28/fresh-inquest-held-into-death-pte-geoff-gray-deepcut
