Dr Courtenay Griffiths KC

Courtenay joined chambers after having spent much of his career and as Head of Chambers at Garden Court. It was a delight for us to have him.

It cannot be said of many that they have had such a profound influence on the careers of so many but there are several people who will say they owe their career to him. He was an inspiration and demonstrated the importance of having role models for those aspiring to a career at the Bar. Many looked up to him. His guidance, support, kindness and enthusiasm touched lives.

He gave freely of his time and wisdom.

He was a hugely charismatic man, who earned the title legend, a formidable advocate and a fierce protector of Human Rights.

He will be sadly missed by all of us at 25 Bedford Row.
