Fraud and Theft Trial Stopped for Amounting to an Abuse of Process

Tom Price QC, leading Eric Watson of Watson Wodehouse, successfully argued in the Court Of Appeal that HHJ Tomlinson was correct to stop a trial relating to fraud and theft as it amounted to an abuse of process on the grounds, amongst others, that it was a proxy prosecution and was a way of using the criminal courts to settle a civil dispute.
