DNA17: Will this be a revolution in DNA evidence?
Here are the details of the upcoming seminar.
Venue: 25 Bedford Row, London WC1R 4HD
Date: 21st October 2015
The new European harmonised DNA profiling system, commonly known as DNA 17, promises to produce a greater number of 'usable' DNA profiled from samples submitted for DNA profiling. But will this evidence be more probative of guilt or does the increased sensitivity of the system create greater risks of false and misleading results from contamination and secondary transfer and could juries be misled by an inadequate presentation of the significance of mixed DNA samples that are more likely to occur?
This seminar will help you understand the differences and alert you to the new ways in which DNA evidence will impact upon trials.
