The recent Court of Appeal judgements on the admissibility of expert opinion evidence on DNA profiles continue a trend away from requiring experts to justify their opinions using statistics and in favour of a more subjective approach: but is all DNA evidence as powerful as it seems?  If you don't know your alleles from your loci this seminar will try to de-mystify DNA evidence to help understand its significance so that defendants can be better advised on its importance.
