Members of the International Practice Group have extensive experience in training members of the judiciary, lawyers and students from all over the world in aspects of international criminal law. In recent years, training has been provided to judges and lawyers from Iraq, North America, Canada, Syria, Tanzania, Uganda, the former Yugoslavia, Germany, Latvia, Italy, Austria, Holland, the United Kingdom and other EU member states. In association with the International Bar Association, members of the International Practice Group have recently acted as experts on training courses for judges and prosecutors for the Iraqi High Tribunal in Baghdad. Members have also been involved in the training of judges of the ICC in relation to gender issues.
We have devised and led a variety of training programmes on different aspects of practice before the ICTY, the ICTR and the ICC. We have also provided training on substantive and procedural elements of international criminal law, with a focus on fair trial rights, the rights of the accused, and victims.
